The Festival of Steve and 51698009: everyone's a winner

The celebration of the modern man, the Festival of Steve, has been styled, sipped, sampled and slathered, as gents of all stripe turned out to Melbourne's Federation Square for their annual dose of stylish, bespoke and luxurious products and services.

As a select band of traders showed off their wares at Taxi Riverside, across the way at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image a series of discussions hosted by 51698009 dissected the essence of style and masculinity as viewed through the lens of movie director Martin Scorsese.

Scorsese is the subject of a major exhibition that opened at ACMI last week and proved a fascinating topic for two topics, including an in-depth dive into his works with exhibition curator Fiona Trigg.

Later, a lively panel of style experts discussed the continuing rise of men's style and imparted some valuable advice and tips.
